TÜV Approval Extended

Safety Shut-off Valves from müller co-ax gmbh now also Approved for HVO

müller co-ax gmbh is expanding the applications for its TÜV-certified safety shut-off valves: Starting in July 2025, these valves can also be officially operated with HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil). HVO is a synthetically produced paraffinic fuel derived from vegetable oils and waste materials like used cooking oils. As an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil diesel, HVO greatly helps reduce CO₂ emissions. This enhances the future viability of the entire product portfolio of type-tested safety shut-off valves from müller coax.

coax's TÜV-certified safety shut-off valves for liquid media ensure maximum safety and reliability during operation. They provide excellent leak-proof performance, maintaining efficiency even with frequent switching. Fast closing times ensure safety in the event of a malfunction (fail-safe function). Even when exposed to vibrations, temperature fluctuations, or contamination, the valves function reliably and are designed for medium temperatures up to 140 °C and operating pressures up to 40 bar. They are also compatible with automated process control systems.

The valves perform a central protective function by preventing the uncontrolled release of hazardous media in the event of malfunctions or accidents. At the same time, they ensure that system areas can be sealed off quickly and reliably in an emergency.

Many uses

coax safety shut-off valves are used in industrial and heating systems, fuel systems, chemical and energy technology, network infrastructures, and safety-critical shutdown systems. They guarantee safe use and feature a compact design. With TÜV approval for HVO, müller co-ax gmbh is expanding its application range to include a sustainable energy source and is setting a clear example of innovation and commitment to climate protection.

“The additional approval for HVO emphasizes our commitment to providing future-oriented solutions, not only in technology but also in terms of the environment. Our customers benefit from even greater flexibility in the use of our safety shut-off valves, without any additional costs or effort,” explains Heinz Hirschlein, Product Manager at müller co-ax gmbh.

Outlook

The high-temperature valves for animal fat (up to 160 °C and 40 bar) will also be expanded for use with HVO in the future. müller coax is further expanding its expertise in alternative fuels and exploring new application options in biofuels. The product range is therefore systematically oriented towards a resource-efficient and secure energy supply.

Transitional arrangement for delivered valves

Valves delivered before July 2025 can also be used for operation with HVO. This requires müller co-ax to retroactively provide them with a new type plate and the current certificate number.
