The valves' technical design is based on media and application requirements. This can lead to deviations from the general specifications shown on the data sheet with regards to the design, sealing materials and characteristics.
This type is a pneumatically actuated valve with 2 port connections and 2 switching positions with a nominal width of 5 mm. The control is carried out using a 3/2 or 5/2-way pilot valve, provided by the customer. The PLB 05 has been specially designed for glue. This series is used highly successfully for glue application (laminated wood gluing and composite lumber) as well as in bonding applications, up 25 bar.
The special feature of the PLB is that it is hermetically sealed to the outside by a metal bellows and it is also equipped with a wear resistance valve seat; this is because the media hardens when making contact with air, which would destroy a conventional valve. The PLB can be mounted as single valve as well as in a manifold block in order to achieve the necessary glue bead spacings during glue application.
