müller co-ax gmbh is expanding its range of safety-certified products: As of June 2025, the FMX, FCF, and FCF-K coaxial valve series have been available with SIL3 certification. In doing so, the company is meeting the increasing demands for functional safety in the process and machine industry.
Some valve series, such as the K, VK, and VSV series, already have SIL certification. With this addition, müller co-ax gmbh is consistently strengthening its position as a provider of reliable safety solutions in safety-relevant applications.
SIL (Safety Integrity Level) is an international standard according to IEC 61508 that describes how reliably safety-relevant systems can prevent dangerous situations. SIL 3 is one of the highest safety levels for valves in practice and is essential in situations where failure could endanger human life or cause significant economic damage.
“With the new SIL3 certification of our FMX, FCF, and FCF-K series, we are sending a clear message: We want to offer our customers valve solutions that meet the highest safety requirements while offering efficiency and reliability in operation,” says Heinz Hirschlein, Product Manager at müller coax.
In addition to the valve series, müller co-ax gmbh has also expanded its range of accessories. Besides a new 5/2 pilot valve with SIL3 certification for valves with a NAMUR bore pattern, the company is now also offering a limit switch with SIL3 certification that is particularly suitable for safety-relevant applications in machine controls. These additional components enable users to implement complete systems with consistent safety certification.
As the so-called overall SIL value comprises all safety-relevant components of a system, müller co-ax gmbh provides its customers with comprehensive support. The aim is to ensure that the desired safety level in the machine control system is actually achieved, even when selecting third-party components such as pilot valves or limit switches.
Whether in the chemical, energy, or hydrogen industries, in maritime applications or in mechanical engineering: The coax® valves from müller co-ax gmbh offer safety, reliability, and durability—and now in even more variants with SIL3 certification.
müller co-ax gmbh is a leading international valve manufacturer. Since its founding in 1960, the company, which now has over 300 employees, has specialized in the development and production of coaxial valves.
