The valve cartridge is attached to the valve body with three screws. Once installed in the piping system, the system offers the advantage that the valve cartridge can be replaced within a few minutes if necessary.
The tedious dismantling of the entire valve body from the pipeline using a large wrench is no longer necessary; only the three screws have to be loosened. Another advantage is the consistently small valve diameter, even at the highest system pressures. Pneumatic valve drives with one, two, and three cylinders are available in order to be able to switch the at times enormous pressures of up to 180 bar. The drives have small diameters and are arranged in tandem, one behind the other. In many cases, this narrow tandem design is the better solution, instead of relying on a single drive with a large diameter. This means that these valves can be installed next to each other to save space, even in extremely confined spaces.A version with a hose seal is available for heavily soiled or sticky media.
With the help of fine throttles on the pilot valve, the switching times can be set by the user as desired. Switching delays of up to three seconds when opening and closing are possible. This helps prevent hydraulic shocks in piping systems.
The cartridge valves are available in a nominal width of 10 to 15 mm. Depending on the pressure difference, drives with one, two, or three pistons are required. The pressure diagrams on the data sheets are very important for the correct design. The valve design is application-specific and carried out in close consultation with the customer.
